Thursday Club at Greyfriars Bar, starting on 2nd May.
The brand new open mic will mirror the successful Monday Club held at The Cavern Pub in Mathew Street, Liverpool by songwriter Ian Prowse.
Prowse, who has a loyal Perth following and is about to embark on a national tour kicking off in The Fair City in May has endorsed the link up.
Different from all the other open mic nights, Thursday Club will have a strict No Covers Policy!
This is an opportunity for local musicians, comedians and poets to come along to a friendly environment and showcase original material without the pressures of playing to an audience expecting to hear cover versions.
Hosted by John Ramsay, singer with The Last Smilin’ Villains and The Irritable Owls, the pub hopes to attract many musicians and artists in Perth who write and record their own material.
There will be a drink at the bar for every performer and complimentary snacks available throughout the evening.
We hope to create an environment for artists to showcase their own original material and an open mic night which sets us aside from the rest.
Guitars and vocal mics, as well as a top of the range Bose PA system will be supplied, so either bring your own instrument, or just turn up and play!
